Effective May 23, 2026 · Last updated August 5, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using MealChord, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Service

MealChord helps you manage a pantry, generate recipes with AI, plan meals, build shopping lists, track food waste, and control optional music playback while cooking. AI features may analyze images and generate suggestions from your ingredients.

3. Account responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate sign-up information, keep credentials secure, notify us of suspected unauthorized access, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. Email sign-ups must be verified during the two-day grace period or may be locked.

The current release does not automatically delete an account solely because it is inactive. If an inactivity-deletion policy is introduced, we will update these Terms and provide reasonable advance notice and a recovery period.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use MealChord unlawfully; abuse or manipulate AI features; attempt to access another user's data; interfere with infrastructure; reverse engineer the app where prohibited; harass or impersonate others; or use automated tools to scrape or operate the service. Connected music providers remain governed by their own terms.

5. AI-generated content

You acknowledge that you use AI-generated content at your own risk.

6. Intellectual property

Your content

You own the pantry items, shopping lists, meal plans, notes, and other content you create. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display it to provide MealChord.

Our content

The app's design, code, branding, and original content belong to the developer and may not be copied, modified, or distributed without permission. AI-generated recipes are provided for personal use, and we do not claim copyright in them.

7. Third-party services

MealChord integrates with Supabase, Anthropic Claude, and Apple services. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms:

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, MealChord is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties. We are not liable for adverse outcomes from AI-generated recipes, including allergic reactions, food poisoning, injury, or illness, or for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the app during the 12 months before the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the developer harmless from claims, damages, losses, or reasonable legal expenses arising from your use of the app, violation of these Terms, or violation of a third party's rights.

10. Account termination

You may delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, abuses AI features or infrastructure, or uses the app unlawfully. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination except in cases of severe abuse or legal obligation.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms and will notify you in the app or by email when changes are significant. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in Washington State courts.

13. Severability

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue.

14. Entire agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the developer about your use of MealChord.
