Privacy Policy
Effective July 18, 2026
Sortwave is designed so your music-curation activity stays on your device. We do not operate an account system, advertising network, analytics service, or developer-controlled server for the app.
Apple Music access
With your permission, Sortwave uses Apple’s MusicKit frameworks to show playlists and songs you select, play music, inspect favorite status, and apply playlist or library actions you request. This information is processed on your device and through Apple’s services. It is not transmitted to or collected by the developer. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Spotify beta access
If you use the limited Spotify beta, Sortwave connects directly to Spotify using OAuth. Spotify receives the requests needed to show and modify your Spotify library, playlists, likes, and playback. Sortwave stores the OAuth credential in the iOS Keychain and does not send it to the developer. You can revoke access from your Spotify account’s Apps page. Spotify’s processing is governed by Spotify’s Privacy Policy.
Information stored on your device
Sortwave stores session state, queued actions, preferences, and session history locally so that undo and recovery continue to work. This information remains until you clear eligible history in the app or delete the app. Spotify credentials remain in the iOS Keychain until access is disconnected or the app is deleted.
Data collection and tracking
We do not collect personal data, track you, sell data, or share data with advertisers or data brokers. Sortwave contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
Your choices
You can revoke Apple Music access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music. Spotify beta users can revoke Sortwave from Spotify’s account Apps page. Revoking access prevents the related service features from working until permission is granted again.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them only to respond and troubleshoot, retain them only as reasonably needed for support and legal obligations, and do not sell them. Do not send passwords, OAuth credentials, or unnecessary library details.
Children
Sortwave does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Changes
If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed version is distributed.
