Wake Up

Privacy Policy

Wake Up: Wrist Tap Alarm, version 1.0
Effective date: October 27, 2026
Developer: Sooraj Sambasivam (individual developer)

Summary

What is stored on your device

Wake Up stores the following in its app storage on your device:

You can export your history as a JSON file. The exported file is under your control and stays wherever you save it. You can also clear the iPhone's history in the app. Clearing history on the iPhone does not erase the copy on your Apple Watch.

Sync between iPhone and Apple Watch

Your iPhone and paired Apple Watch exchange alarm, arming, battery, practice and history status directly with each other using Apple's Watch Connectivity. This data is not sent to the developer.

Motion data (optional walking confirmation)

Walking confirmation is optional. If you turn it on and grant motion permission, the Apple Watch uses Core Motion step counts and activity classification while an alarm is active. This data is processed in memory on the Watch and discarded when tracking stops. It is not stored as raw history, and it is not sent to your iPhone or to any server. A check-in records only that walking minutes were detected. If you decline motion permission, you can still dismiss the alarm manually. You can change motion permission in system Settings.

Permissions

You can change these permissions at any time in system Settings.

What we do not collect

Wake Up does not access your camera, photos, location, contacts, microphone or HealthKit data. It does not collect your name, email address or phone number, and it does not use advertising identifiers or tracking technologies.

Apple

Apple may collect App Store data and device diagnostics or crash reports under Apple's own privacy policy and your device settings. If you choose to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated crash and usage reports. These reports do not identify you, and we do not try to link them to you.

Retention and deletion

Morning history is kept for up to 90 days on each device. Other settings and status are kept until you change them or delete the apps. Deleting Wake Up from your iPhone and Apple Watch deletes the data stored by the app on those devices. Copies in device backups are governed by your Apple backup settings.

Children

Wake Up is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. In fact, the developer collects no personal information from anyone through the app.

Your rights

Because the developer does not collect or hold your personal data in this version, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, export or delete. You control the data on your devices: you can export or clear history in the app, change permissions in Settings, and delete the apps. Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. If you have a question or request about your privacy, contact us at gallant_times_9f@icloud.com and we will respond.

Possible future features

A possible future optional feature may involve a server. If that happens, this policy will be updated, and you will be told in the app before any such data is collected.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will tell you in the app.
